Credit Repair Credit Cards – Is There Such A Thing?

Credit repair credit cards? Is there such a thing? You may think that using a credit card would be the last thing that could help in your efforts of credit repair.

Credit cards are usually blamed for bad credit problems, not for helping to repair them. Well keep reading to find out a way to use a credit card that actually can help you repair your credit.

The type of credit card I’m talking of is a secured credit card. Using a secured credit card is a smart way to help rebuild your credit.

A secured credit card is used just like a regular credit card, the only difference being that you have to leave a deposit with the bank for the amount of the credit limit you want.

So for example if you wanted a secured credit card with a $500 limit on it, you would have to leave $500 as a deposit with the bank.

The bank has that $500 as collateral against your card, so they are protected from losing any money if the credit card isn’t repaid.

Using secured credit cards as “credit repair” credit cards is simple. What you’re aiming to do is show the credit reporting agencies that you are responsible with credit. So you start using your secured credit card for a couple of smallish purchases that you would usually pay cash for.

Then when the payment is due on your secured credit card you pay it back by the due date. By keeping the purchases small you should find it easy to pay this small amount back each month.

The exercise here is to pay back the balance in full each month, not to go on a credit buying spree.

As you repeat this process every month, you are showing a responsible payment history which will be reflected positively in your credit report.

So that’s one way that secured credit cards can be used as credit repair credit cards. Paying your secured credit card bill on time, every time by it’s due date is one way to start improving your credit.
